    1. If a fan gives me permission, and has a cool idea, I like to give them a nod in the books. My Patreons get their names in the books, and some have given me creatures (or details) for the bestiary that will be coming out. If you have an idea, you’re more than welcome to email me at any time!

      1. If that was the case, I assume that ability would have been used when the denglong arcanist fought in the Sovereign Dragon Tournament.

    1. Hey Danny! The tech level of Throne is about 1600s level Europe (Jacobean era, and Baroque era) think mostly fancy candles. But also, this is a world of magic, so glowstones are very common. ❤

    1. Yes! First off, the Academy Arcanist books will continue in the Frith Universe. Additionally, I have a secret project that will also take place in the Frith Universe, just for one specific tournament. >.> (Shh! It’s a secret) But you should see lots more novels and stories about the universe in the future!

  3. Is the bestiary gonna included every eldrin mentioned in your books? Also is the bestiary separate or attached to Grandmaster? In the future would you be open to attaching a extra page at the end of each of your books that has the powers of all the creatures mentioned in that book?

    1. My plan had been to make the bestiary separate. Adding an index at the end of my books is a good idea, but the lists could get very long! I may include a link to the wiki in the future. >.>

      1. Hi, is the wiki already a thing, and if so how would I access that? I’m super invested in the frith chronicles series and love the books so much. Can’t wait for grandmaster.

  4. Did you have all eight books drafted before publishing Knightmare Arcanist? On the other end of the spectrum, did you even know it would be an eight book series when you started?

    1. Hey there! I had outlined the series (knowing the ending) but in my first outline, it was just 7 books. I actually split the plot points of book 7 into 7 and 8 to cover everything I needed. o.o

    1. Given that kirin are all about destiny and true forms tend to be about individual choices, would kirin even have a true form? The two forces seem at odds.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Kirin also bond to people who have the potential to become great leaders! The true form would be once their arcanist achieved just that. o.o

    2. A true form kirin’s ability would be to magically alter the second creature bonded to the arcanist. This magical change would give the other creature more “dragon like” features (seen in a lot of Chinese myth).

  6. Is Cinna Venrover a brownie arcanist or is the brownie arcanist—the person who made Adelgis’ cape and other clothing—one of his other siblings?

  7. Since we will not be seeing the soul forge in grandmaster arcanist, what are all of it’s magical abilities and passive abilities gramted to its arcanist? What exaxtly are the crystles that were evoked by Theason? Also can’t wait for grandmaster arcanist to come out so I can read it!

  8. I have an idea for the bestiary, what if you had a creature that is basically the God of all the creatures, not like the God Creatures but more like a supreme god, the creator of all type of thing (kinda like how Pokémon has Arceus)

    1. Hey there! Thank you for the suggestion. And while it’s pretty cool, I don’t think it fits the world, mainly because I don’t have a one-god myth, if that makes sense. However, the apoch dragon is considered the giratina of the world, so hopefully that’s at least similar? lol

  9. What age group can frith chronicles be read by? Because I wanted to introduce by cousin to these books, and i don’t know when he should read it. If not, are you gonna make a slightly less adult version?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I wrote the books to be enjoyed by 12+ (right in the Young Adult category). I would say the books contain violence, but little else in the ways of adult content. Several middle schools have picked up the series to have in their classrooms and libraries, so many teachers also believe it’s in the 12+ age range. If your cousin has read books like Percy Jackson, or Coraline, or similar age-range books, than the Frith Chronicles shouldn’t be too spooky! I hope that helps.

  10. Hey Shami, really looking forward to Grandmaster Arcanist in a few days! Quick question, do you think there will ever be official illustrations of any of the arcanist marks? (especially the knighmare or the world serpent ones, I’d love to get a tattoo of one of them)

    1. Hey there! You’re in luck. I recently commissioned someone to do artwork for the normal arcanist mark (with the knightmare and rizzel designs) because I wanted it for one of the novels. I’ll show it off as soon as I get them! ❤ (And you need to show me the tattoo!! That's so amazing ;_;)

    1. I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed Grandmaster. That makes my day!! Crown Tournament will be released probably in a month or so (it’s already written, technically – so please be on the lookout for that!!) ❤

    1. Young arcanist enters a tournament to gain a prized magical item. Most people believe it to be more ceremonial, and of no use, but the main character and crew know the secret to its awesome power, and need to get it before anyone else does. o.o

    1. Yes, sort of. Astra Academy is in the same world and was built by Volke, but the book Academy Arcanist takes place 70 years later and has a different protagonist.

    2. Likewise, the Arcanist Fables collection of short stories isn’t required reading, but includes a lot of scenes where Volke wasn’t present, such as the trials of worth of the Soul Forge and the Keeper of Corpses.

  12. Hey Shami, I hope you are having a having a great day.

I just finished reading Grandmaster Arcanist and was absolutely blown away by the way you were able to wrap of every single plotpoint, it was definitely one of the greatest books i have ever read and the twists in this books were crazy especially when that important stone broke (hehe) and I have to say that ending was up there in the best and most epic conclusion i’ve ever read. I was so emotional in the last chapter as Terrakona was one of my favourite characters but what a great ending!
The only question, i.e. untied plot I have is what happened to King Odion Hayes in this book, there was no mention of him and we know that Volke took him captive in Master Arcanist. I hope you have an amazing year ahead and that each and every book of yours becomes a bestseller

    1. Hey there! I’m so glad you enjoyed the novel. The ending was definitely difficult to write! Please consider leaving a review. (SPOILER) As for Odion, he would be cured of the plague (due to the salvation aura). Hopefully that helps! ❤

  13. Shami, thank you for The Frith Chronicles
This was one of the first and best series I read, and grandmaster was just amazing.
I can’t begin to imagine a better conclusion for this series.
And now for the question, whens the second book of academy arcanist coming out? cant wait 🙂

    1. I’m aiming for late Feb or early March! (And I’m so happy you enjoyed the Frith Chronicles – that ending was what I imagined back when I wrote the first book, lol – it’s been a fun journey!!)

  14. Hey Shami,
Grandmaster was such a good closure to such a great series! The Frith Chronicles is one of those stories that will stay forever in my heart. I don’t think I’ve ever liked anything as much as I like these books. They’re art. I wanted to ask if we are going to get any insight on Volke’s family future on Academy arcanist sequels. I’m asking because I wanted to see a bit more of him with his family and Luther after the Apoch Dragon. Also, I wanted to thank you for your work. As I said, these books are very special to me. Thank you, Shami… thank you so much ❤

    1. I’m thinking I’ll release it after Mimic Arcanist – I wanted to include the creatures found within, and I wanted it out for people to see and have fun with. I need more artwork and a cover, though! I’ll update when everything comes together here. o.o

  15. Hey Shami, absolutely love the Froth Chronicles and refuse to start Academy Arcanist until I have listened to Grandmaster Arcanist. Seeing as how I can only do the audiobooks, any updates on when the two audiobooks should be released? I also plan on getting a full set of the hard covers, even though I haven’t actually “read” them, because I love the series so much. Thanks in advance.

    1. Hey there, Randy! I’m so happy to hear you enjoy the Firth Chronicles, and I have good news! Brian Wiggins has finished the audio for Grandmaster. As soon as it goes through Quality Assurance, it’ll hit the shelves (usually in a couple weeks). As for Academy, I worked with a production company to bring it to life. Tantor has done the audio, and the pre-order will soon be going up (I believe the audiobook releases in March). Sorry about the delay! I hope you enjoy the conclusion!
